The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has been doing multiple pioneering support projects for Nepal through its model of partnerships and funding. This particular project, however, signaled a proactive approach with the SDC showcasing the rising economic sectors in Nepal as a reason to ‘invest in Nepal.’
For the project, we employed our stock footage library from nearly a decade of shooting; allowing us to concurrently begin working on a cut of the video while the shooting on the interviews and additional B-roll progressed. This allowed us to work simultaneously on editing and production, effectively cutting total production time.
We also tried to be proactive with our client communication, factoring in collaborative writing and edit review sessions. This allowed us to continuously iterate on the product, with each draft improving on the product significantly. Although we discourage editor switching as much as possible, the structural clarity of the project allowed us to hand over the editing duties for the project between editors with no migration issues at all.
The project turnaround and the smart leveraging of stock video allowed us to present a slick, promotional video that accurately showed Nepal’s potential as a nation to be invested in. The final video is also a great example of our contrast improvements in our production processes.
